Hi, I'm Kornelia.
Polka Cake Studio is my one-person cake studio in Copenhagen, where I design and make sculptural wedding and celebration cakes.
MUSIC
I've always had a strong need to create. It started with music: I grew up in Poland and lost myself in classical music from the age of ten. Music school gave me sensitivity and discipline, and showed me how art builds emotion.
FINE DINING
When I got pregnant, I started baking at home and fell in love all over again. I got into pastry through fine dining and quickly became head pastry chef. Over eleven years I've worked in kitchens in London, the United States, Poland and Denmark. Restaurant kitchens taught me respect for the product, and how to build a full experience into a dessert, through texture and through reaching different senses.
SCALE
In Copenhagen I've worked on large-scale events, some for up to 3,000 guests. Managing that kind of production, the planning, the recipes, leading a team, was its own kind of art.
TODAY
Today all of that comes together in Polka Cake Studio. Inspired by your stories, your world, art and nature, I turn that into cake.
MISSION
My mission is to create cakes that feel deeply connected to the people and occasions they're made for. Not something chosen off a portfolio, but something built around your story.
